Promoted listings continue to be a controversial topic on eBay. You have one side that sees promoted listings as another way to milk sellers out of profits, bolstering the company’s bottom line. Conversely, another faction of sellers find success with promoted listings, willingly paying eBay a percentage of each sale in exchange for increased visibility and sales.

I have consistently set my promotion rate at 10%, with the thought that my 10% discount for being a top-rated seller will offset these costs. this strategy isn’t for everybody, but it works for me.
